Jeremy Hellickson Signs Minor League Deal With Nationals

Right-hander Jeremy Hellickson has joined the Nationals on a minor league contract and an invitation to spring training in the majors, sources told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

Hellickson, who turns 31 on April 8, would get a $2 million, one-year contract if added to the 40-man roster and would have a chance to make an additional $4 million in performance bonuses, a source told The Associated Press.

A's, Jonathan Lucroy Agree To One-Year Deal

The Athletics have reached agreement on a one-year contract with free-agent catcher Jonathan Lucroy pending a physical exam, sources told ESPN.com Friday. The deal could be finalized over the weekend.

Lucroy, 31, is a two-time All-Star and the top catcher left on the free agent market. He'll move ahead of Bruce Maxwell and Josh Phegley on the depth chart and give the Athletics a veteran presence behind the plate to work with a young pitching staff.
