Right-hander Jeremy Hellickson has joined the Nationals on a minor league contract and an invitation to spring training in the majors, sources told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

Hellickson, who turns 31 on April 8, would get a $2 million, one-year contract if added to the 40-man roster and would have a chance to make an additional $4 million in performance bonuses, a source told The Associated Press.

Third baseman Eugenio Suarez agreed to a $66 million, seven-year contract that makes him part of the foundation for the Cincinnati Reds' long-term rebuilding.

The Twins released veteran right-hander Anibal Sanchez on Sunday to create a roster spot for Lance Lynn, who reportedly agreed to a deal with the club Saturday.

Lynn's deal is for one year and $12 million, according to multiple reports.

Sanchez had agreed to a one-year deal with the Twins last month.

The Athletics have reached agreement on a one-year contract with free-agent catcher Jonathan Lucroy pending a physical exam, sources told ESPN.com Friday. The deal could be finalized over the weekend.

Lucroy, 31, is a two-time All-Star and the top catcher left on the free agent market. He'll move ahead of Bruce Maxwell and Josh Phegley on the depth chart and give the Athletics a veteran presence behind the plate to work with a young pitching staff.

The Tampa Bay Rays have finalized a $4 million, one-year contract with free-agent outfielder Carlos Gomez.

The 32-year-old batted .255 with 17 home runs, 23 doubles, 51 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 105 games for the Texas Rangers last season.
